We found this young gator in a little waterhole which was quickly drying up. Young gators have a protective coloring that mimics dappled light and breaks up the shape of the body, imagine how hard it would be to see this little guy in a natural setting. Adult Gators are not real pretty as far as looks go, I remember being struck by how handsome this little one was. This painting was included in my book “Painting Nature’s Little Creatures”.
I do accept ideas for commissions and would love to talk with you about it. I am lucky enough to paint creatures and locations that inspire me.
If you are interested in a painting, two things are required: patience and the knowledge that it is my vision that you will be receiving, based on information shared between us. If we do come to an agreement, you will receive a one-of-a-kind Stephen Koury treasure.
