This piece is the result of several days watching Goldfinch play around thistle feeders. The males were everywhere and their plumage was simply glowing making it real easy to want to paint them. The main stem of the wild rose acts to create a diagonal dividing the image. The blooms and the birds act to draw the eye around the image, and the elegance of the birds awesome.
