Western Sandpipers are almost magical, able to outrun waves up and down the beach and stay right where the wave finally stops and begins to recede without getting their feet wet. This painting is about how they play the bubbleline, following it up the beach then out to sea again. The shadows anchor the painting and help to portray the plane of the beach.
I do accept ideas for commissions and would love to talk with you about it. I am lucky enough to paint creatures and locations that inspire me.
If you are interested in a painting, two things are required: patience and the knowledge that it is my vision that you will be receiving, based on information shared between us. If we do come to an agreement, you will receive a one-of-a-kind Stephen Koury treasure.
