I am in Namibia, right next Botswanna and the okavango delta. It’s the second to last day for me. The end of two summers in africa and NO black rhino sightings. The trip had been awesome, I had seen everything except Black Rhino. I had almost given up, knowing the numbers in the wild are so low for this species. The numbers are sketchy for black rhino, maybe 200 or less, mostly killed for the horn! So….it’s evening, the end of another awesome day, we are preparing to head back to the lodge and out steps this amazing black rhino. She’s huge, heading to the water, and she has an older calf the size of a mini van with her!!! This painting and a couple more came from this precious sight!
