I love doing smaller studies of the critters we share this planet with. This Great Blue Heron was a study in concentration as he stalked the shallows of a nearby preserve I love to go to. I was totally wrapped up watching him slowly move with barely a wake, waiting for an opportunity. The light was just right, creating a wonderful corona around the head and neck with a warm glow through the bill.
