A beautiful tiger swallowtail backlit on purple flowers. In this piece the goal was to portray the swallowtail backlit with the light just pouring through those beautiful wings. To carry off the effect that I was after I had to strengthen the shadow on the lower wing, and portray a corona around the outer edge of the top wing. The light on the swallowtail was repeated by the light passing through several leaves.
