Quiet Courage

I watched this African Lion over a period of days, he had a confident air about him befitting the king of beasts . Lions and animals in general seem to look alike in our eyes, yet they vary within species just as we do. Some Lions have wider faces, others longer, some have golden manes, some have manes that transition to black at the lower neck and body. The behavior and mental makeup of Lions varies as well, this one was a patient, confident leader. In painting “Quiet Courage” I wanted to convey my feelings about this big cat, to show the viewer the calm confidence this leader of Lions possessed.
